Danny Gans Shines at the Mirage

The lights of Las Vegas can be seen from miles around – even from space. Among the brightest lights on the Las Vegas Strip is entertainer Danny Gans, who has been headlining for more than 10 years and whose show is one of the hottest tickets in town. He sparkles like a diamond– complete with many facets.

Award-winning comedian-impressionist-singer Gans plays to consistently packed houses in the magnificent, $15-million theater that was custom built and designed for him at the Mirage. The boyishly handsome performer draws from his ever-expanding repertoire of what must surely top the 300 mark and presents anywhere between 60 and 100, dead-on characterizations in each show. Each performance is a rich blend of marvelous music, nonstop comedy, and a sprinkle
of drama. Gans’ hilarious lyrics poke good-natured fun at some of the world’s best-loved celebrities. He doesn’t rely on standard impressions. Instead, he includes the difficult and unusual portrayals of singers such as David Bowie and Anita Baker and both parts of the Natalie and Nat “King” Cole duet, “Unforgettable.”

An accomplished actor, Gans serves up some stirring scenes from movies, too, with segments from films such as Forrest Gump, Scent of a Woman, and On Golden Pond, the latter of which features him presenting both Katharine Hepburn and Henry Fonda.

Whether he is making the audience laugh or touching their hearts, Gans performs with a depth rarely seen. He pours every ounce of his soul into his performance. He not only looks and sounds just like the person he is characterizing, he captures even their most subtle nuance – be it a smile, an arched eyebrow, or a glance. It is as if, for that moment, he actually becomes that person–he is extraordinary.

Be sure to take the entire family to see the remarkable Gans in his highly acclaimed one-man show. It will be an evening that you will be talking about long after you leave the theater.
