Garth Brooks

Encore Las Vegas has become the newest spot where the whiskey drowns and the beer chases your blues away – at least for 15 weeks a year. Garth Brooks came out of his self imposed eight-year retirement to perform as a resident at the Encore Theater.
The five-year deal brings Brooks on select Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Steve Wynn, chief executive of Wynn Resorts, even offered Brooks a private jet to shuttle him back and forth to Tulsa, Okla., to be with his family. Brooks retired from touring 11 years ago to spend time with his three daughters and wife, country music star Trisha Yearwood, whom Brooks expects to occasionally take the stage with him.
“This room was meant for special moments,” Wynn said during the announcement of Brooks’ residency. in the past, Beyonce, Larry King and Whoopi Goldberg, along with impressionist Danny Gans, who died last May, performed in the room.
For the most part, Brooks promises a minimum 90-minute set with just him and his guitar (and 10-gallon hat and boots). He plans to sing the hits from his career as the No. 1 selling solo artist in U.S. history along with songs from musicians such as Hank Williams Jr. and George Strait who helped him form his musical style.
