Approximately 90 miles north of Las Vegas lies the well-known Area 51, also known as Groom Lake. This patch of desert land has been the topic of much controversy throughout the years. In the 1950's this secret government site was designated as a testing area for new types of aircrafts. The remote location and dry flat surfaces are perfect for taking off and landing aircrafts.
The government’s resistance to talk about Area 51, or even acknowledge its existence, creates a sense of mystery about what really takes place or has taken place there in the past. Are they hiding fallen UFO aircrafts? Are some of our own aircrafts modeled after those not of this world? There are a variety of wild theories, but only a select few share the secret of Area 51.
While Area 51 may be restricted, the Extraterrestrial Highway is open to the public. The highway passes the highly guarded Area 51, and if you look hard enough you might catch a glimpse. One thing you will see for sure is Little A’Le’Inn. Stop at this UFO haven for some out-of-this-world merchandise and their special “Alien Burger.”
