Ethel M

What do a chocolate factory and a cactus garden have in common? A trip to Ethel M Chocolates factory will answer that question. Located only a few minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, this candy factory has embraced its desert location and features a Botanical Cactus Garden on the same property the delicious treats are created.

Candy aficionado Forrest Mars started the gourmet chocolate line, naming it after his mother, Ethel. The factory shows a behind the scenes look at the candy making process right down to the beautiful packaging. Once you have walked through the factory, step outside and admire the Botanical Cactus Garden.

A long-standing holiday tradition in Southern Nevada is the holiday lighting of the garden. This year, from Thursday, November 16 through Monday, January 1, 2007, stroll down the garden’s illuminated cacti pathways and enjoy the sights, smells and sounds of a “Chocolate Wonderland” from 5 PM to 10 PM, seven days a week. Featuring more than 500,000 colorful lights, the Ethel M “Chocolate Wonderland” is free to the public and open to all ages.

Admittance is free and guests are able to tour the factory at their own pace. Guided tours are available upon request for those traveling with a large group. Shopping is also available on site, with holiday stocking stuffers such as chocolate snowflakes and Ethel M’s signature peppermint bark, which is available only during the holiday season.
